You guys have any suggetions about brand for a new thermostat?

It looks like the local NAPA and CarQuest have both the regular Stant and the Super Stant as their "store brands"

All O'Reilly's has in stock are "Murray Temperature Control Plus" and "Temp Control Ultra". Nobody local has a Delco in stock.

Thoughts?

Also, do I need to replace the O-ring on the water outlet in addition to using a new gasket for the thermostat itself?

Thanks :)

hi, I always buy a fail safe stat so if it goes bad, it stays open

Sounds like they work from what I've read today. Also sounds like a lot of them fail quickly.

Ive found that i have to change failsafe ones wver year or so. I order Super Stant and have no troubles with them

my safety stat popped for no good reason on me..replaced with the stant/napa brand. The good news is that these are the easiest thermostats to replace out of any car I've ever owned.
