Guys, I finally figured out where the dang thing is at on my VIN C Motor, thanks to a diagram from Autozone.

What's the EASIEST way to get the thing out as well as get out both the O-Rings to replace the whole shebang?

As you guys are aware its right UNDER 3 of the plug wires, and the vacuum hose that goes to the intake is rather short. I tried reaching down under the wires and trying to hook it with my finger (I have REALLY big hands) and just wound up giving up.

It's not just the plug wires either, the fuel rail is right over where it sits as well as some other wiring.

Help! :banghead:

I haven't done this job on a vin C motor yet (only it's vin 3 predecessor). But a combination of some smaller wood bocks, screwdriver, and a channel lock type wrench should be all you need to reach. The wood block is to give you something to pry against without chipping paint or whatever from the valve cover.

If you can, move things out of the way to make it easier to access. The old rubber grommet can be a pain to remove.

I'm pretty sure its in the same Location on the VIN 3? Back left hand side of engine underneath the fuel rail?

Are you using the screw driver to pry out the old grommets?

Thanks!

I suspect I'm going to have to replace the hose as well, so what should I be using for that? I don't see it available as a part anywhere? What type of hose and does anyone know the OD/ID? Thanks :)

A rubber hose from the parts store will work, most likely 3/8" ID, or you can get a silicon hose.

Last year I replaced my pcv valve after I had removed the intake for gaskets.I would recommend spraying some typs of lube like wd40 and slowly wiggle the thing out.Mine broke and the bottom half of the grommet went into the intake manifold. It takes 2 grometts so be very careful they get brittle with age.Hope that helps.
