1990 Bonneville LE - Vibration in rear (seat vibrates) when braking above 40mph. Installed new rotors, calipers, drums, pads, shoes & 4 new tires. Still the same problem.

Any ideas what the problem might be?

Could be a bad strut in the back, not providing any damping to the wheel, which would vibrate heavier under braking (it would still vibrate when driving, but may not be noticable).

Also check the tie rod ends and control arm bushings. A car this old will probably have some worn and bad suspension components and they all work together to control and stabilize the wheels. Yes, these cars have tie rod ends in the rear.

Put it up on some stands and take a good look for any loose or damaged components and then grab the wheel and try to move it up and down and side to side. There should not be any play when doing this and indicates a possible bad hub.

Also try swapping the wheels to the front and see if it moves. This would indicate a bad wheel / tire.

Thanks for the suggestions.
BTW, the car only has 67k miles. It runs well otherwise... even the A/C works. :)

Check rear suspension and rear wheel cylinder & bearing bolts. Most likely in the wheel.
