hello,
I have a 1987 Bonneville. I pulled into the driveway today with the car running fine. I went out later and tried to start it and it would not start. It turned over at first and then hesitated several times as it tried to start. Charged the battery to 100% and still the same result. It almost appeared to not be getting fuel. It has the 3800 fuel injected engine. Thanks.

as always it could be about anything but from experiences with 88 le:

1. the crankshaft position sensor was a high failure item due to manufacturing defects. as you say, i could park my car from running normally and come back a half our later and would not start. however, if i tried to restart at intervals of 5, 10, etc. minutes it would eventually start and run fine for maybe even weeks. i finally took it to dealer for analysis and they already had a service bulletin to change cps under warranty.

2. when car had high mileage, there was a no start after running normally. towed to dealer and diagnosis was fuel pump. there are several threads in the forum for checking fuel pressure.

could also be his mass air flow sensor on his way out. that would explain the hesitant starting...

do you no how to check the mass air flow sensor ? its pretty easy. if not just say so and ill type out my best way to check.
