Well, the issues with the car are getting smaller by the day, but now with the hot weather I have found the A/C isn't working. After re-setting my TPS,(thanks clm2112) I checked for any codes but came up 12-12. During the paper clip trick, my fan started up, but it seems to not work under normal conditions. I don't drive the car very far at the moment, so overheating has not been a problem, I replaced the fan relay last christmas for my trip to Calgary. Believe it or not the fan came on after I turned off the car at 8pm and approx minus 20 degrees. Pretty sure the motor was not in need of any extra cooling. After that I disconnected the fan because the battery went dead before I left for Calgary after the fan had run all night. These 2 issues may not be related, but I plan on testing for leaks before re-charging the A/C. As always, any tips greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hi, find the AC low pressure filler cap it is on the bigger line not the small one. Take off the cap an use a key to depress the valve. If you hear a hiss you have pressure. If you dont have pressure, you should purge the system of air/water. See if the ac compressor starts spinning when its turned on. If its not, low refrigerant will cause this. If the AC was working before maybe the refregerant is the problem. You can go to Crappy Tire and buy the r12a refill kit. You can also buy a sealer for $26 I believe the kit is $54 with two cans of r12a.
They also sell a dye to find leaks but since your car is old like mine, I opted for the sealer and all is working very nicely.

Hey, np, yes check out the A/C and post. If the compressor is good and you have pressure, half to 1 can of r12a will be enough to start the compressor. Be sure to check the AC relay first. The AC relay and high cool fan relay should be the same but check the numbers printed on them. The amp rating numbers I believe they are all 30amps. You have to check the product code( i think its around 5 digits). If they match you can exchange them and see if the relay is the problem. Be sure to have the car off when plugging/unplugging relays. Which fan relay did you replace? The low or high cool?
